How do you price a systems integration?

Which is better: an API, a file or web scraping?

When a stable official API is available, it is usually our first choice. XML, CSV or Excel works well for scheduled catalogue exchange. We consider scraping when the source provides no better method and the planned use complies with the law and terms of service.

Can you integrate an older system without an API?

Sometimes. We check file imports and exports, database access, email or controlled interface automation. Such connections can be more sensitive to change, so we need test access before quoting.

Is web scraping legal?

It depends on the source, terms, data type, database rights and intended use. We do not bypass protections or assume that public visibility permits unrestricted copying. Ambiguous cases should be reviewed by a lawyer before implementation.

How do you secure data and API keys?

We use separate technical accounts, limit permissions and store secrets outside the codebase. Logging, retention and access rules are matched to the type of data being processed.

What happens when an API or website changes?

The integration should detect the failure, prevent invalid writes and send an alert. Official APIs are usually more stable, while scraping more often needs maintenance after interface changes. We agree support separately before launch.
